The idea that cats have nine lives is so accurate and could not have fitted better to any other animal out there.

Just this weekend, our cat decided to waste one of her lives when she found a way to tear through our window net and chill on the tiny ledge we have right outside the window. We live on the fifth floor of a very tall building – one step forward and would have been gone.

Of course, we also lost a few years of our lives trying to get her back inside the house without spooking her and causing her to misstep, so overall the life expectancy in our household has lowered significantly over the weekend, but at least she is alive and well (and is currently in kitty jail and not allowed anywhere near the windows.
